Women's Boxing · Scottsdale & Gilbert, AZ

Boxing for
Women

Build real strength, confidence, and boxing skill under certified USA Boxing coaches. Onyx Boxing welcomes women of all fitness levels at both Scottsdale and Gilbert locations. Your first week is $15.

Why Women Choose Boxing

More Than a
Workout

Over half of Onyx Boxing members are women. Not because boxing is marketed to women — because it delivers results that no other fitness format can match. Real technique under certified coaches builds something that a cardio class never can: genuine capability and confidence.

The Onyx difference: Every coach holds USA Boxing certification — the national governing body's standard. You're not learning cardio movements from a personal trainer with gloves. You're learning real boxing from credentialed coaches who are invested in your development.
The Benefits

What Boxing Does
For Women

01
Full-Body Strength

Every punch engages your core, shoulders, hips, and legs simultaneously. Boxing builds functional strength across every major muscle group without the bulk associated with weightlifting.

02
500–800 Cal/Hour

A 60-minute boxing class burns more calories than almost any other group fitness format. The combination of technique work, bag rounds, and conditioning keeps your heart rate elevated for the entire session.

03
Unmatched Confidence

Knowing how to throw a proper jab-cross-hook is genuinely empowering. The mental strength and physical capability that boxing develops extends well beyond the studio into every area of life.

04
Stress Relief

Boxing is one of the most cathartic physical activities available. The combination of intense focus required and physical exertion produces a post-class clarity and calm that members consistently describe as unlike anything else.

05
Real Skill Development

Unlike cardio boxing, Onyx classes develop actual boxing technique — footwork, defense, combination fluidity — that builds and compounds over time. Every class makes you better, not just tireder.

06
Welcoming Community

The Onyx member community is one of the most supportive in the Valley. Women of all ages, fitness levels, and backgrounds train together — beginners and experienced members in the same class, all pushing at their own pace.

Common Questions

Women's Boxing FAQ

Is boxing good for women?

Boxing is one of the best fitness activities available to women. It builds full-body strength, burns 500–800 calories per hour, improves coordination and confidence, and develops genuine self-defense capability. Over half of Onyx Boxing members are women. Classes are designed to welcome all fitness levels.

Will boxing make me bulky?

No. Boxing builds lean muscle and burns significant calories. The combination of bag work, footwork, and conditioning is excellent for body composition — toning and defining without adding bulk. Most women who train at Onyx report losing body fat and gaining definition within the first 30 days.

Do I need experience to start?

No experience required. Onyx Boxing welcomes complete beginners. Your first class begins with a coach introduction and basic technique instruction. Loaner gloves are provided. The $15 trial week is specifically designed for first-timers who want to experience boxing without commitment.
